Chicago Lawyers Collective: Pro Bono Legal Help for Low-Income Residents

Chicago Lawyers Collective web.jpg

Four Black amazing young attorneys in Chicago have teamed up to form a "Superhero Lawyers Group" to address various social ills, and a host of other concerns. They call this group the Chicago Lawyers Collective. Their mission is to provide pro bono work for low-income residents in Chicago. Blacks in Chicago are disproportionately arrested and assaulted by Chicago police more than any other racial group.

According to bettergov.org, the City of Chicago has spent over $500,000,000 in the last decade or so for police misconduct reported claims. Most Chicagoans when arrested don't fully understand they have a Constitutional right to legal representation.

Too often as we've seen in the documentary "When They See Us", Black Chicagoans get caught up in faulty, messy, and, at times, forced confessions, which often lead to their incarceration.

These four amazing Black attorneys are here to ensure all Chicagoans are treated fairly and within their legal rights. "...your race, religion, or ethnicity don't matter! These four young Black Chicago attorneys are here to serve all!"

On July 3, 2020, the Chicago Lawyers Collective met at St. John Bible Church where civil rights leader Rev. Ira Acree is the pastor.  The Chicago Lawyers Collective presented slain teen Amaria Jones (13-year-old teen killed by a stray bullet, but had dreams of being a lawyer) with a certificate of honorary membership. They also named an academic scholarship in Amaria Jones' name for youth who are interested in law.

Whether you need a lawyer for: divorce, child support, child custody, business, sports, entertainment, employment law, civil rights, police misconduct, criminal defense, personal injury, or real estate...these four amazing young Black attorneys got your covered!
